About Lily
Breed: Border Collie Mix
Age: 1 Year
Health: Healthy • Female • Spayed • Microchipped • Fully Vaccinated
Meet Lily! Lily is a bright, affectionate, and energetic Border Collie mix who has spent the last year living and training with Sadja. Originally adopted from the Idaho Humane Society at just 3 months old after being found as a stray, Lily has grown into a wonderfully social and well-mannered young dog.
Training & Socialization
Months 3-6:
Lily’s early training focused heavily on socialization. She was introduced to a wide variety of dogs, people, and environments. Thanks to this foundation, she is excellent with children, adults, and other dogs.
However, as she matured, Lily developed a strong prey drive and cannot live with cats or small prey animals.
Months 6-9:
During this period, Lily’s personality blossomed. She began learning basic obedience and was introduced to skills needed for Emotional Support Animal (ESA) and Therapy Dog work.
Months 9-12:
Lily entered her teenage phase—spirited, inquisitive, and occasionally mischievous! Training during this time focused on reinforcing foundations, improving duration, distance, and distraction, and helping her learn appropriate boundaries and manners for living in a human world.
Months 12-13:
Lily is now entering her final stage of training, preparing for her:
Lily’s Ideal Home
Lily will thrive with an active family or individual who appreciates her intelligence, energy, and eagerness to learn. She is affectionate, people-oriented, and incredibly loyal. A home without cats or small animals is essential.
Precautions
Lily has high prey drive and needs to go to a home where there are no cats or small animals. Lily, as a puppy, would jump fences. This behavior could show itself during the transition into her new home.
Temperament:
Calm, loving, affectionate, soft, gentle and sweet
